Center Introduction
The Korea-Sri Lanka Buddhist Cultural Centre was established in 2018 to promote cultural exchange between Korea and Sri Lanka through Buddhist teachings. The centre was founded with the vision of creating a space where Sri Lankan Buddhists living in Korea and Korean Buddhists can practice and interact together.
Based on his long experience of Buddhist practice and education in Sri Lanka and Korea, the founder, Venerable Kim Yong-cheol, aimed to create a deep Buddhist bond between the two countries. With the belief that ‘Buddhism is a teaching that transcends borders’, he wanted to spread the values of practice and compassion through the centre.
Our centre is more than just a religious space; it is an open space where anyone can visit to find peace of mind, experience Buddhist culture, and reflect on their inner selves through practice and meditation. The Korea-Sri Lanka Buddhist Cultural Centre was established to realize deep cultural exchange between Korea and Sri Lanka based on Buddhist teachings. Our goal is to spread Buddhist culture more widely, provide opportunities for meditation and practice for believers, and continue Buddhist traditions in a modern way.

Becoming a center of Buddhist cultural exchange between Korea and Sri Lanka: Hosting regular international events and seminars to introduce Buddhist culture between the two countries and expand opportunities for exchange.
Creating an open space for Buddhists around the world: Establishing a global Buddhist network by operating meditation and education programs that anyone can participate in, both online and offline.
Inheriting traditional Buddhist values in a modern way so that more people can experience them: Developing modern meditation and practice programs for the younger generation and producing digital content to make Buddhist teachings easily accessible.
Building a global network that practices peace and compassion based on the Buddhist spirit: Developing joint projects in cooperation with international Buddhist organizations and institutions, and practicing social responsibility through charity activities.
